Melissa California

Melissa California is an Account Executive in her third season with the Whitecaps ticket office, and the reason the department's renewal number holds up. Melissa grew up in Freehold, New Jersey, studied accounting at Emelia in Vermont, and spent two years on the phones at a credit union before deciding she would rather talk about football. She is the quietest desk in the room. Her name is rarely near the top of the daily sales board and reliably near the top of the season total. She keeps a handwritten list of every ticket holder she has promised a callback, on one sheet of paper, never a sticky note, and crosses them off one by one. Sales Manager Wallace Berg has stopped trying to get her to be louder. Away from the office she does the crossword in pen, grows more zucchini than the building can absorb, and keeps score by hand at Whitecaps baseball games at Sandy Stadium.
