Gueanviere Backu

Gueanviere Backu is the Director of Marketing for Rockbeach Athletics, where she has spent more than fifteen years putting Whitecaps schedules on refrigerators and Sandy in parades from Osprey to the Parkway. A Freehold native and a Rockbeach graduate, she came into the department as a promotions intern under athletic director Petey Cappo, inherited one of his whiteboards, and still plans every football season on it. She is a traditionalist; the schedule poster and the Sandy Party flyer go out the same week every year because they work. Then, roughly once a year, she has the idea. Her best one is The Siren, the stadium experience at Jacobsen Stadium whenever the Whitecaps defense needs a stop, led by the Mermaids student block. Nobody on campus needs it explained to them anymore. Away from the office she keeps a serious vegetable garden, has two kids in the Osprey schools, and owns more lighthouse-shaped novelty glasses than any one household should.
