The Whitecaps mermaid, on fuchsia.
Why fuchsia. Because it was ours first. From 1901 the colors here were fuchsia and green — a local high school called wanting a game in two days, and fuchsia and green were the only bolts the clothmaker had left. Jeff Hive took what was there. Thirty-five years of it followed, and then black and white. This is the old uniform.
